2013 San Francesco Cirò Rosso Classico (Calabria) $17.95

This wine hails from Calabria, the toe of Italy’s boot, and the same place where those expensive chilies on pricey pizzas come from. Lucky for you, this wine will not only go beautifully with said pizza, but it will probably cost less than the pie. Made from the indigenous grape, Gaglioppo, the San Francesco Cirò is warm and a little spicy, like many southern Italians. And like southern Italians, this wine is a joy to spend time with.
