This fabulous wine is grown in the volcanic soils of the Serra del Prete mountains in southern Italy. The vines average 45 years old, and you can taste the wisdom. Aglianico is often called the Barolo of the south. This modestly priced bottle is an excellent example of why this grape is held in such high esteem. It has earth, pepper and spice, and a tremendous amount of personality.
